    I have the honor of tendering my resignation as 2nd Lieut Co "I" 5 Regt of Tenn, Vol. Cav. upon the following reasons viz
    In this that I have been Elected to the office of County Court Clerk for Putnam County, Tenn. I certify on honor that I am not indebted to the U. S. on any account whatever and that I am not responsible for any Government property except what I am prepared to turn over to the proper officer on the acceptance of my resignation, and that I was last paid by Maj. Hollenhead, to include the 30th of June 1864.
    My address will be 5th Tenn Cav.
