  • Last Rites held for Mary Jackson -- Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Ellen Jackson, 82, were conducted at the home at Bloomington Springs Saturday afternoon by the Rev. C. W. Coleman, of Baxter. Services were also held at the grave in Jackson county, where she was buried. Mrs. Jackson died Friday after a long illness. Mrs. Jackson was born and reared in Jackson county and was married to Logan Jackson October 17, 1869. To this union thirteen children were born, 7 boys and 6 girls. One boy, Frank, died aobut 26 years ago, and one died in infancy. Mr. Jackson died 17 years ago and Mrs. Jackson cared for her family during the years following and she was greatly beloved in her neighborhood and in the community in which she lived. Hers was an exceptional character and her passing was a source of sincere regret. She is survived the following children, Miss Ruth Jackson, of this place, Mrs. C. C. Brown of Double Springs, Mrs. Dow Waller and Mrs. W. M. Fields of Baxter, Mrs. Mary Jackson of near Nashville, Will Jackson of this place, Charlie Jackson of Mt. Juliet, Sam Jackson of Oklahoma, Jobe Jackson of New Mexico, and Edd and Garrett Jackson. She was a member of the Church of Christ.
