  • Wm. S. Gilliam died at his home three miles north of town on March 20, 1906, of pneumonia and was buried at Smyrna graveyard the following day. He was a veteran of the Mexican war and almost 80 years of age. He leaves a wife, one son, Jesse Gilliam, and one daughter, Mrs. Wiley Callan. Sympathy is extended the saddened family.
