  • Joseph C. King died at his residence north of town on Tuesday night. He was in his 80th year, and was well known to most of our citizens.

MRS. J. C. KING DEAD. - Mrs. Jospeh (sic) C. King died Wednesday night at the home of her son, Hon. J. N. King, two miles south of Cookeville, after a lingering illness of cancer. She was about 75 years old and a life-long member of the Southern Methodist Church, Her interment took place at Shipley Thursday afternoon, the funeral services being conducted by Rev. G. R. Allen, of this city, in the presence of a large number of relatives and friends. Mrs. King is survived by five children: J. N., R. W., W. R. and John King, and Mrs. S. D. Quarles.
