  • GWG (12 Jan 1912) -
    • Enlisted November 1862 at Livingston in the 25th TN Infantry Regiment
    • Served until 1864 when he was allowed to come home on furlough from Loudon
    • Before the expiration of the furlough, the army went south.
    • GWG connected with Captain Franklin Hammock's unit. He was with them in a fight with Tinker Dave Beatty's men at Raven's Cliff.
    • Captain Hammock and all the men except for five were killed.
    • The remaining surviving men remained together until Colonel Hughes returned.
    • He fought with Hughes until the close of the war.
    • He left Overton County to Carthage by the way of Flynn's Creek and met up with Pink McCarver who took 10-12 men to Carthage and procured their surrender.
    • He was paroled by Colonel Cleveland

Gullett, Geo. W. - Geo. W. Gullett died at his home in Brotherton last Sunday at the age of 81 years, being one of the oldest and best known men in the sixth district.
