Angeline Isbell’s first husband was Joseph Allison. At his death, he willed her a parcel of land in the 18th Civil District. On 4 April 1891, she sold this land to Jas. H. Lee who issued her a note for $250 for the land. Shortly thereafter, Angeline died. She left a valid will and assigned W. J. Isbell and L. P. Gillem as her executors. Her executors sold the note to J. H. Ragland and Co. When Jas. H. Lee, defaulted on payment of the note, H. C. Fields took Jas. H. Lee, Mattie Lee, W. J. Isbell and L. P.
